Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds red potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Wash and cut any visible bad spots or large eyes off potatoes
- Add potatoes to pot
- Cover with water and boil for 40 minutes or until tender
- Drain and set aside to cool for 30 minutes or more
- Cut into large dice for easier mashing
- Remove any skins that come off while slicing
- Melt butter in the stock pot
- Add potatoes, butter and salt
- Bring to a simmer
- Mash potatoes and continue simmering until liquid starts absorbing about 10 minutes
