Southern Butter Beans with Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bag of frozen butter beans
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup of onion
  • 1 cup of vegetable or chicken broth
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 12 oz bag of fresh green beans

Instructions

  1.  Melt butter in large skillet
  2. Saute onion until fragrant
  3. Add vegetable stock, bacon and all seasoning, cover and simmer for 25-30 minutes
  4. Once beans are slightly tender, stir in bag of green beans
  5. Cover and steam green beans for 10 minutes or until tender
  6. Once veggies are done it’s ready to serve!
