Ingredients
- 1 pound of green beans, washed and trimmed
- 1 tablespoon garlic, coarsely minced
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Put half an inch of water in the bottom of a 12 inch skillet and bring to a boil
- Add green beans, cover and steam for 5 minutes
- While that is going make an ice bath
- Drain green beans and drop in ice bath to blanch them, drain and let drip dry in colander
- In skillet add oil, garlic, and red pepper flake, saute 30 seconds
- Add green beans salting as you turn, mixing ingredients (tongs work great for this)
- Taste test and add more salt or seasoning as needed
